Taking Imperfect Action
The difference between wanting and being is taking action. If you want to build confidence and feel better, you absolutely must take action. But there is a pause between wanting and doing—a leap that makes us hesitate.
We have all been there—we want someone to tell us we'll do great, it'll all work out, and there is nothing to worry about so that we can feel confident and ready to take that leap.
But here's the truth: You're never going to feel totally ready.
Our minds are tricky—they'll conjure up fear, excuses, and so many reasons why you CAN'T take that leap. But the ONLY thing that will get you to feel ready is actually doing it. Taking one small step. And then another. Small, consistent steps.
If you want something different, you have to just go for it. You have to take the risk and open that door.
Want to build confidence and feel better? Take action.
Someone asked about our theme for the next YOGA STRONG start coming up in April—empowered. "What exactly does that mean," she asked "I'm just getting back into things—do you think I’m be ready?"
When I think about being empowered, I imagine having the confidence to go for what you want. Then I heard this quote and thought, Yes! That's what being empowered is about:
"You attract what you are, not what you want."
Being empowered is NOT about wanting, it's about doing. Taking action isn’t about changing you. You are the same you you have always been. Taking action is about putting one foot forward and then another and another—and continuing to do so even when you stumble, even when you tell yourself you're not ready, you don't have the time, it's too much money—even when you're feeling guilty for doing something good for yourself.
That is what it is like to be STRONG and to be EMPOWERED. You take imperfect action and you continue towards change.
So whatever you are going for—go for it. Take imperfect action. Step out of your comfort zone. Starting creating your best life.
Sending you lots of love 💖
